Despite all the efforts and advancements, young people's adverse life experiences and provenance from a socially vulnerable background continue to condition and negatively influence their overall life path, and education hasn't yet managed to fully counteract this effect. According to a study conducted by Anda et al. (1998), "traumatic experiences in childhood have consistently been associated with a wide range of adverse outcomes in adulthood, including academic failure, risky behaviors, unemployment, and a greater vulnerability to mental health problems." According to Eurostat, in 2021, the largest gaps in integration in the fields of employment, education, and social inclusion were recorded for young citizens from third countries (non-EU Citizens). According to Smith et al. (2016), "young people exposed to episodes of family violence during childhood often face significant difficulties, manifesting in risky behaviors (...). Furthermore, this exposure increases the likelihood of unemployment and failure in academic and professional areas in adulthood."
 
It becomes clear that youngsters from deprived backgrounds (e.g., economic difficulties, neglect, episodes of violence and/or abuse, migrants, those who have experienced losses and/or deal with serious family health problems, etc.) tend to have greater difficulty in taking advantage of and succeeding in educational opportunities. This happens at least partially because the educational system (both formal and non-formal) still struggles to properly consider the individualities of each young person and to adjust the learning process to the specific challenges and needs of each one.

We aim to provide young people with a unique and transformative opportunity for empowerment through interculturality. Following the principles of non-formal education and "trauma-informed education," the goal is to offer introspective tools so that young people can understand and accept their own journey, improve their emotional intelligence-related competences, and enhance their social competences - all with a focus on their autonomy and success (both socially and academically, and ultimately, professionally). In practical terms, we will work on the principles of storytelling so that, on one hand, young people can understand that their life story is valid and powerful, and on the other hand, they can connect with young people from other countries facing similar challenges. It is expected that verbalizing and/or materialising their life stories (e.g., through the arts) will help these young people understand the risk factors that hinder them, as well as the protective factors that can help them build successful futures.

APV - je  přípravné setkání pro výměnu mládeže, která se bude konat v červenci.  Během APV se sejdou zástupci zapojených organizací pro navázání hlubší spolupráce a detailní plánování. Také dojde ke kontrole lokalit konání YE. 

APV trvá pouze dva dny + máš ještě dva dny na cestu
​ubytování máš hrazeno od  6. do 9. května

Účastník APV má přednostní právo na účast na výměně mládeže, která se bude konat v Portu v 3. - 7. července. Poznat Portugalsko, zapojené organizace  i téma projektu tak pro tebe bude ještě jednodušší.

cena: VŠE HRADÍ EVROPSKÁ UNIE (ubytování, stravu, program, cestovné do výše 360 Euro)
účastnický poplatek: Active Vitorazsko, z. s. jako jedna z mála českých organizací nevybírá!

deadline:   26. 04. 2024 (půlnoc)
Nejpozději do 27. 4. 2024 obdrží každý na svůj email výsledky výběrového řízení (případně výzvu k videomeetingu)
